Bursa'nın da aralarında yer aldığı çok sayıda kentte umre ziyaretine gitmek isteyen 412 kişinin 10 milyon TL dolandırdığı ileri sürüldü. Ahmet Çokyaşar, hakkındaki iddialara ilişkin açıklamalarda bulundu. Sözleşme imzaladıkları seyahat acentesine yaklaşık 130 bin dolar ödediklerini ancak firmanın uçuşu iptal ettiğini öne süren, bunun sonucunda yaşanan aksilikler dolayısıyla da cezaevine girdiğini belirten Çokyaşar, "Biz ne minareyi çaldık, ne de kılıfını hazırladık. Bizim amacımız topluma ve millete hizmet etmek. Hiç kimse endişeye kapılmasın. Söz konusu firmadan da şikayetçi olduk" dedi.
