Bursa'nın Gemlik ilçesine bağlı Kumla Mahallesi'nde, yaklaşık 50 yıllık bir sitede yaşanan yıkım olayı tepkilere neden oldu. İddiaya göre, site yönetiminin şikayeti üzerine harekete geçen Gemlik Belediyesi yıkım ekipleri, yalnızca 20 santimetrelik balkon çıkıntısı nedeniyle komşular arasında dava devam ederken, komşuların şikayetleri esas alınarak, yapıda kepçe ve balyozlarla yıkım gerçekleştirdi. Ev sahipleri ise mahkeme sonuçlanmadan, herhangi bir resmi bildirim yapılmadan gerçekleştirildiğini öne sürdükleri yıkımın hukuka ve vicdana aykırı olduğunu savundu.
